Program Coordinator Midwest and South
Sumer Shaikh is a Program Coordinator for Project Nur (PN), a student-led initiative advocating for social justice by empowering responsible leaders to cultivate an environment of acceptance and mutual respect between Muslims and all communities. A graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and Social Change, Sumer has experience as a community leader, a researcher on community oriented rural development, and a policy researcher on community-based healthcare. Through her work with Project Nur, she aims to bridge the gap between social stratifications based on religion, politics, and culture, within American communities. She has used a community-centered approach in her past work experiences, and hopes to bring that same modus operandi to Project Nur national and individual PN chapters in the Midwest and Southern parts of the country.
